About the role
This position is located at Kansas City Assembly (KCA), part of Ford Motor Company's manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks of the trade, stand for extended periods, walk unassisted, work at heights, work overhead including on ladders and platforms and manipulate tools typical of the trade.
- Perform tasks such as machine fabrication, installation and alignment, field machining, lifting and rigging, steel fabrication, conveyor systems, blue print reading and sketching.
- Work on any assigned schedule, change shifts, work more than 8 hours per day and/or work overtime, all while maintaining good attendance.
- Learn and follow safety rules and procedures, work in a team environment, treat co-workers with dignity and respect regardless of personal differences, and accept and follow instructions and requests from leadership.
- Understand and follow instructions, both oral or in writing.
Requirements
- Completion of a bona fide apprenticeship, or 8 years of previous experience, or a combination of previous work experience and training equivalent to a bona fide apprenticeship program in the trade.
- Experience in machine fabrication, installation and alignment, field machining, lifting and rigging, steel fabrication, conveyor systems, blue print reading and sketching.
Qualifications
- Ability to perceive differences in details and prints related to trade.
- Ability to effectively maneuver about vehicles, equipment, assembly lines or stations, and about facility.
Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and prints.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.

Pay
- Top hourly base rate of $44.765, plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums. Starting rate is $44.565 with pay increases to the top rate upon completion of three consecutive months of employment.
