About the role

The Second Shift TIG Welder - Fabrication & Machining role at Pillar Innovations offers a unique opportunity to work just four days a week, enjoy a 30-minute paid lunch, and earn a $2/hour shift differential for evening hours. This role focuses on high-precision TIG welding projects in stainless steel and aluminum, with the option for three full days off to recharge.

Responsibilities

  • Tackle high-precision TIG welding projects in stainless steel and aluminum, following blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure quality assurance standards are met.
  • Perform quality checks during production to ensure parts/pieces meet tolerance requirements.
  • Operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Read, understand, and accurately execute work orders and quality assurance (QA) standards per job requirements.
  • Weld and fabricate components from blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings using GTAW (TIG) processes.
  • Advance your welding career by advancing through tiered levels based on certifications, skill mastery, and project complexity.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of TIG welding 16-gauge to 1/4-inch stainless steel and aluminum.
  • Successfully complete a weld test required before employment.
  • Possess knowledge of metal plate types, sizes, and shapes used in an industrial shop setting.
  • Use measuring devices such as tape measures, squares, protractors, compasses, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.

Qualifications

  • A thorough understanding of all aspects of industrial fabrication.
  • Proficiency with the products and services offered by the company.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours as needed.

Skills

  • Highly skilled and proficient in TIG welding stainless steel and aluminum.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and exceptional weld appearance.
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in an industrial shop setting.

Schedule

Shift Monday-Thursday, 400 PM-200 AM (with a paid lunch break).
