Responsibilities
- Utilize TIG welding and other welding methods to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components to meet production and quality standards.
- Work safely and efficiently, and be comfortable working from blueprints, work orders, and verbal instructions.
- Safely and efficiently operate assigned equipment.
- Read, understand, and accurately execute work orders and quality assurance (QA) standards per job requirements.
- Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies, using welding equipment.
- Perform quality checks during production to ensure parts/pieces meet tolerance requirements.
- Work within our fabrication and machining shop and play an important role in producing high-quality metal components and assemblies.
Requirements
- 2+ years of TIG welding 16-gauge to 1/4-inch stainless steel and aluminum.
- Previous welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Welding certifications are considered a plus.
- Must successfully complete a weld test required before employment.
- Possess knowledge of metal plate types (steel, aluminum, stainless, galvanized, etc.), sizes, and shapes (beams, channels, angles, pipe, flat bar, etc.).
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in an industrial shop setting.
- Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures, squares, protractors, compasses, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail.
- A solid understanding of fabrication practices.
- A commitment to producing quality work in a team-oriented environment.
Skills
- Experience with common welding processes such as GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), SMAW, and SAW.
