About the Role
Service is the foundation of everything we stand for at Vail Resorts, and our Ski Patrol team ensures this experience of a lifetime. Responsible for the safety of staff and guests on the mountain, Ski Patrol are alert and dependable professionals focused on safety with the ability to remain calm in crisis when incidents arise.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and promote guest safety on varied terrain with varying winter weather conditions
- Assist injured/ill guests on the mountain and administer first aid
- Transport injured guests off the mountain using a toboggan or support air lift operations
- Maintain trails, including hazard identification, setting up closures and safety materials, and addressing other impacts from the resort environment
- Transport supplies and heavy equipment to areas of need on skis/snowboard
- Perform closing procedures at the end of the day to ensure all guests are safely off the mountain
- Enforce the Skier Responsibility Code and Resort Policies
- Chairlift and guest evacuation
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Pass resort Ski Patrol sponsored ski test, capable of skiing all types of terrain under all weather conditions
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have excellent guest service skills
- Must work well in a team environment
- Must be able to work in inclement weather in a mountain environment
- This role requires further background check clearances by the State of Pennsylvania, which must be completed before beginning work
Pay
The expected pay range for this position is $21.00/hr - $25.05/hr. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
