Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a highly dependable team player to join the staff as a Skilled Machine Operator to run the Retort Equipment. This role offers attractive work hours, on‑demand wage access, and the chance to contribute to industrial food and beverage manufacturing.
Pay
Starting pay rate: $26 per hour. Employees work 36 hours per week and are paid for 40 hours.
Schedule
Day‑shift positions on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Shift runs from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. All production crews are required to work an occasional pre‑planned Sunday. Employees work three 12‑hour shifts each week.
Responsibilities
- Operate retort equipment.
- Troubleshoot, perform minor maintenance repairs, and input items into the SAP system.
- Engage in problem solving to improve safety, quality, yields, and productivity.
- Maintain accurate production records in both written and computer‑based formats.
- Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications (hard copy and electronic).
- Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain plant equipment.
- Assist with training efforts in the functional area as needed.
- Maintain a high level of safety and quality awareness with a sense of urgency.
- Foster teamwork consistent with the company’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Follow DFA GMPs and comply with corporate, regulatory, food‑safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years prior manufacturing experience (food & bottling experience preferred).
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge in a plant environment.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Solid PC skills.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
