Skilled Line Clearance Tree Trimmer

About the Role

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is seeking an Experienced Line Clearance Trimmer (preferably a climber and/or CDL holder) to join the team serving the Guernsey and Tuscarawas County, Ohio regions, including Cambridge, Dover, and New Philadelphia. Work is performed on‑site at locations in Cambridge, Guernsey County, Dover, New Philadelphia, and Tuscarawas County, OH.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using Davey’s DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more.
• Work as an active crew member alongside supporting ground crew and foreperson.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Valid driver’s license (required).
• Commercial Driver’s License – Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement (preferred).
• Line clearance experience or other related tree work (preferred).
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses/certificates, if required by state law (preferred).
• ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional® (preferred).

Employment Details
