Summary

We have immediate openings for Skilled Laborers in the areas: Wallops Island, VA Northern VA/DC/MD.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Ability to drive work trucks as needed.
• Perform maintenance of traffic and flagging.
• Perform job site housekeeping duties.
• Absorb and apply knowledge of various tasks, such as measuring distances from grade stakes, driving stakes, stretching tight line, bolting, nailing, aligning, blocking up under forms, signaling operators of construction equipment, leveling earth, mixing concrete, smoothing and finishing freshly poured cement, aligning and sealing pipe sections, erecting scaffolding, shoring, and braces, mopping, brushing, or spreading paint or bituminous compounds, spraying materials, applying caulking compounds, assisting with demolishing structures, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, mounting pipe hangers, cutting, and attaching insulating materials.

Education And/or Experience

• Minimum one-year related experience and/or training.
• Preferred experience with structural steel, bridge/utility/road work.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memo.
• Add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one–or two–step instructions.
• Deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Follow directions.
• Handle basic hand tools, such as shovel, pick, broom, hammer, saw, paint brushes, etc.
• Light or heavy handling.
• Stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
• Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Expected Base Pay Range

The expected base pay range for this position is: $20.00/hr - $25.00/hr. This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Kokosing at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
