About the role
Laborers are responsible for cleaning and preparing construction sites for the erection of structures and buildings.
- Unloading and loading materials
- Tending machines
- Mixing and pouring concrete
- Assisting carpenters, equipment operators, and other construction site workers
- Choker setting
- Concrete crew work
- Demolition, including salvaging materials, loading, and cleaning up
- Wrecking and dump operations
- Flagging
- Erecting and installing fences, guard rails, medial rails, reference posts, guide posts, and right-of-way markers (other than chain link)
- Form stripping
- General labor duties
- Riprap placement
- Scale operation
- Stake jumping
- Structure moving, including foundation work, separation, preparation, cribbing, shoring, jacking, and unloading of structures
- Water nozzle operation
- Truck loading
- Water distribution
- Tool room attendance
