Summary Perform physical labor tasks at building, residential, and heavy construction projects. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, concrete vibrators, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, floor grinders, and various other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, place bulkheads, pour, level, and finish freshly placed underlayment product, use teamwork to meet daily established goals, help train and develop talent, fill out daily timesheets, take direction from and coordinate with Kent's foreman/superintendent daily, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Duties And Responsibilities Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including a hard hat, high-visibility apparel, and additional protection as required by the task, e.g., a dust mask during mixing/pump operationsSafely perform general labor tasks on commercial construction sites with equipment, power tools, and common hand toolsInstall and maintain fall protection, barricades, and other safety systemsLocate materials, supplies, equipment, and tools onsite and utilize them as directed to meet established production and quality goalsWalk and work on uneven surfaces, climb ladders, scaffold, and shoring frequentlyProperly maintain all equipment and tools so that they are in a safe and reliable working conditionWork in a kneeling, crouching, or bent-over position on a frequent basisWork in a variable environment, both indoors and outdoors, and during inclement weather, including extreme cold/heat, when requiredLift and break 80lb bags into a hopperInstall sound mat materialsPull material hoses on job sites and place cementitious materials with hosesCommunicate effectively with your crew lead, foreman, and superintendent on safety, ask questions, and problem-solve. Assist the foreman and superintendent in tracking onsite material and reporting material usageDemonstrate an understanding of standard job site setupRead take-off sheetsRead prints to understand and perform each job to specifications, including elevation pin installationsAssist foreman and superintendent with daily mobilization and coordinate crew to complete daily tasksAssist pump operator with pump setup and operationPlace and finish cementitious materials proficiently, with hoses to design specifications and plansOperate a skid steer proficiently. Assist foreman/superintendent in performing quality control and quality assurance on underlayment poursTrain, develop, and support others to up-skill teammates and build a stronger division. Requirements Ability to pass drug screeningProvide personal gear such as steel-toe boots and hand tools such as a box cutter. Commercial construction experience, particularly gypsum underlayments. Valid Driver's LicenseChauffer's licenseValid MDOT MED card or ability to obtain an MDOT MED card within agreed upon timeframeMust have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s). Ability to successfully pass a background check related to drivingTraining and consistent experience in underlayments, leveling, and leadershipAbility to work nontypical days and hours on construction schedules.
