About the role
This is skilled construction work involving the preparation, forming, placement, and finishing of concrete for commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects. The Skilled Concrete Finisher / Form Setter performs a variety of tasks related to concrete construction, including form setting, grade preparation, concrete placement, finishing, and quality control. Work is performed under the direction of a Superintendent or Foreman and is subject to review for quality, productivity, and adherence to company safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Set, align, and secure concrete forms according to project plans and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, elevations, and construction drawings.
- Prepare subgrades and assist with layout for concrete pours.
- Place, spread, screed, and finish concrete surfaces.
- Perform floating, edging, jointing, broom finishing, and troweling operations.
- Absorb and assist with curb and gutter, sidewalks, foundations, slabs, paving, and other concrete construction activities.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment used in concrete construction.
- Ensure proper concrete curing and protection procedures are followed.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Work effectively with crew members, equipment operators, and project supervisors to meet production schedules.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of concrete forming and finishing techniques.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in concrete work.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures associated with concrete construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and grade information.
- Ability to establish and maintain proper grades, elevations, and alignments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete forming and finishing preferred.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, municipal, or civil concrete projects preferred.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in concrete construction.
- Ability to safely operate construction equipment and tools associated with concrete work.

Pay

Schedule
Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
