About the Role

Raytheon’s cybersecurity team is seeking a SkillBridge Candidate to support classified computing environments 100% onsite at our Marlborough, Massachusetts facility. This fellowship is designed for transitioning service members to gain hands-on experience in aerospace and defense cybersecurity. As a SkillBridge fellow, you will interface and collaborate with Information System Security Officers (ISSO) and Information Systems Security Managers (ISSM) to ensure compliance with NISPOM Chapter 8, DAAPM, JSIG, and other relevant policies.

This is a non-paid fellowship; participants will continue to receive all military pay and benefits. Upon successful completion, you will be encouraged to apply for open positions at Raytheon.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with system compliance, auditing, security plan development, and information systems security education and awareness.
  • Investigate information system security violations and prepare reports specifying corrective and preventative actions.
  • Collaborate with the facility security team, program personnel, and government representatives.
  • Support security sustainment activities, including hardware and software change management, account management, media protection, user interface, and file transfers.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for SkillBridge Fellowship per DoD Instruction 1322.29.
  • Projected to receive an honorable discharge from the military.
  • All TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date.
  • Approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.
  • Located within a commutable distance or willing/approved to relocate to Marlborough, MA.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance required on day 1; U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field. Relevant experience may include any combination of the following:

  • Cybersecurity, systems security, or hardening.
  • Information Technology.
  • Compliance-based auditing using frameworks such as RMF, DAAPM, JSIG, NISPOM, FAA, PCI, ISO 9001, or HIPAA.
  • Supporting computer technologies (e.g., databases, operating systems, network hardware, software programs, hardware troubleshooting, or electronics).
  • Physical security, law enforcement, investigations, or border patrol.
  • Project or program management, office management, senior administration, or account management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in DoD classified operating and/or laboratory environments.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity Risk Management Framework (RMF) and compliance as stipulated by NISPOM/DAAPM, JSIG, ICD 503, STIGs, and associated NIST publications.
  • Experience with audit reviews (e.g., physical security, network and system event logs, password administration, file access privileges).
  • Familiarity with cyber incident response, including preservation, containment, and eradication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in documenting evaluation results.
  • Customer-focused, adaptable, and willing to work varying assignments.
  • Completion of National Industrial Security Program cybersecurity training courses (available at CDSE).

Additional Information
