Ski & Snowboard School Assistant Manager
About the role
The Ski & Snowboard School Assistant Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality guest and employee experiences while supporting the overall success of ski and snowboard school operations. This role oversees all or key components of program delivery within their team.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations, including training, scheduling, payroll, and performance management.
- Maintain a strong on-hill presence to provide instructor coaching, support, and quality oversight.
- Promote and reinforce consistent safety messaging, ensuring instructors communicate and model safe practices for guests and employees at all times.
- Partner with managers, assistant managers, leads, specialist and product sales & services teams to ensure lessons and programs are executed effectively.
- Oversee operations for daily retail lessons, seasonal programs, and specialty offerings.
- Manage resources, labor, and financial performance while aligning with department and business goals.
- Engage directly with guests to resolve concerns, gather feedback, and enhance overall satisfaction.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, clear communication, and continuous improvement across the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma.
- PSIA/AASI Level 2 or higher - preferred.
- Minimum of three years as a full-time instructor - preferred.
- Have current professional instructor certification - preferred.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently. Verbal communication in person and via telephone with guests, instructors and management - required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook) - required.
- Knowledge of RPOS - preferred.
- Excellent guest service and communication skills.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Knowledge of V/BC Ski & Snowboard School operations - preferred.
- Prior Vail Resorts experience - preferred.
Qualifications
- Starting Wage: $58,461.98 - $68,368.69.
- Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027.
- Shift Type: Full Time.
- Hours available: 32 hours per week – no PTO days.

Pay
The expected pay range is $58,461.98 - $68,368.69. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
Schedule
This is a Winter Seasonal 2026/2027 position with 32 hours per week – no PTO days.
