Ski Lift Mechanic/Electrician
About the role
Massanutten Resort is seeking a Ski Lift Mechanic/Electrician to join our Ski Maintenance team. This role involves maintaining the aerial lifts and surface conveyors that power our mountain operations, working alongside a skilled team focused on safety, reliability, and excellence.
Work in a one-of-a-kind mountain environment using snowmobiles in the winter and UTVs/Rangers in the summer. Massanutten is an employee-owned company offering an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). This position combines electrical, mechanical, troubleshooting, and technical skills, with opportunities to learn specialized lift maintenance and industry-specific equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on aerial lifts, the Mountain Mayhem Coaster, and surface conveyors
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and wiring issues
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
- Install and maintain slope lighting systems
- Assist with mechanical repairs and operational improvements
- Maintain a safe, organized work environment
- Collaborate with fellow technicians to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Experience with basic hand tools
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Comfortable working at heights up to 70 feet
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
Qualifications
- Vocational training in electrical or mechanical trades (desired)
- Lift operations experience (desired)
- Welding and fabrication experience (desired)
- Equipment operation experience (desired)
- Valid driver’s license with an approved driving record

Pay
$15.50 per hour
Schedule
Spring/Summer: Monday–Thursday, weekends and holidays required when aerial lift is operating. Hours: 7am–5pm, additional hours as needed.
Fall/Winter: Monday–Friday, weekends and holidays required. Hours: 7am–5pm, occasional late evenings as needed.
