About the Department
The Main OR PreOp/PACU at Trinity Oakland (Pontiac) is a 39-bay (22 PreOp, 17 PACU) department at Trinity Health Oakland Level 2 Trauma Center, with 15 operating rooms that average 35 cases/day. Our mission is to provide the highest-quality care to every patient who requires a surgical intervention, both during preparation for surgery and recovery from anesthesia. We care for both inpatients and outpatients across the following service lines: Acute Care Surgery, Colorectal, General Surgery, Cardio-Thoracic, Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gynecology, Oncology, and Vascular, as well as off-shift Endoscopy.
Our nursing staff is supported 24/7 by department-based Anesthesiologists. We have the distinction of being a Certified Joint Center of Excellence as well as a Robotic Center of Excellence.
About the Role
The Registered Nurse is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe. Responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to other healthcare team members via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and the environment.
Requirements
- Current Michigan Nursing License
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- BSN degree preferred or must agree in writing to obtain a BSN within five years
- Previous Pre-Op/PACU experience
- Critical Care experience strongly preferred
