About the role
The Patient Service Representative provides secretarial and phone support for the organization utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills. This position promotes quality and cost-effective daily operations by working with the providers, managers, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Correctly obtains and enters patient information, patient scheduling, filing, managing electronic and phone messages, managing and tracking outgoing referrals, addressing patient balances and charge entry, all within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Manages incoming and outgoing mail, clerical inventory, copying, and answering a high volume of incoming calls from patients.
- Works collaboratively with all other staff to assist the patient and facilitate successful patient interaction with the practice team.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare
- Proven “team player” experience
- Demonstrated experience with computer use
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
- Demonstrated competence in interpersonal and intra professional relations
- Demonstrated competence in acute care patient management/organization
- Demonstrated commitment to collaboration with physicians to individualize and enhance patient care
- Demonstrated Experience in medical billing
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of EPIC or other EMR systems
