Six Week Building Float-Paraprofessional Substitute

About the role

Minnetonka Public Schools is accepting applications for a Six Week Building Float Paraprofessional Substitute at Minnewashta Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a bilingual Paraprofessional Substitute position requiring fluency in both Spanish and English. The Building Float Paraprofessional Substitute provides guidance and support to students in a variety of classroom settings throughout the building. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting student success across multiple learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Supports the lead teacher in supervising the classroom and students maintaining a positive learning environment
• Provides instructional support by working with small groups and individual students under the supervision of the classroom teacher
• Provide assistance to specific student(s) with special needs
• Navigator: Assist in the maintenance of individual student learning plans and scheduling of service learning projects as well as reinforcement of curricular concepts and themes taught within the classroom
• Adapt instruction to meet the needs of the diverse learners
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
• Adapt to changing classroom assignments and student support needs throughout the building
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or school administrator

Requirements

• Experience working with gifted/talented children
• Spanish speaking applicants preferred
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and through American Sign Language (for ASL)
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public

Pay

Six Week Float - Paraprofessional Substitute Payrate $22.61/hr. Not medical or dental benefit eligible.
