Responsibilities

• Observe the patient and maintain a safe environment
• Provide care to the patient as delegated by the nurse
• Accompany the patient for clinical tests or procedures off the unit
• Remain within an arm’s length distance of the patient unless otherwise directed
• Monitor two patients in the same room, positioning oneself to maintain an unobstructed view
• Ensure patient safety by removing potentially harmful objects or contraband
• Monitor patient activity to prevent the sitter from simultaneously monitoring both patients
• Collaborate with additional staff as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively
