Siteman Cancer Center at Memorial Shiloh is a satellite location featuring an outpatient treatment area for patients to receive chemotherapy, blood products, IV hydration, central line and port care, phlebotomy, and other scheduled infusion services. The space is staffed with registered nurses and patient care technicians.

Position Highlights

  • Monday-Friday, (8) hour rotating shifts
  • No weekends, no holidays, no call
  • Benefit eligible on the first day of the month after start date
  • Oncology experience preferred
  • 1+ years of RN inpatient experience preferred

Overview

Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services, critical and emergency care, including Children’s at Memorial for pediatric emergency care. It provides a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services, heart and vascular care, and is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. Memorial Belleville is also designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health and is accredited as a Lung Cancer Screening Center by the American College of Radiology. Since 2008, it has been a Magnet®-recognized organization for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Memorial Hospital Shiloh is a 94-bed, all-private suite hospital recognized with Magnet status in 2018. It provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services, and critical care.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
  • Educates patients and their families on managing illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
  • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver, in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
  • Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
  • Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's in Nursing
  • Experience: No prior experience required
  • Supervisor Experience: Not required
  • Licenses & Certifications: RN (Registered Nurse)

Preferred Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
