Site Worker (Union)
About the role
The Site Worker performs general manual labor tasks in a variety of fields in the operations department; including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. A site worker can perform tasks such as digging, spreading, and leveling dirt and gravel, setting concrete, grading, and maintaining roads, and other routine related activities.
Responsibilities
- Aids in off-loading trucks and unloading waste
- Understands and follows safety regulations associated with radioactive material
- Maintains Radiation Worker qualifications
- Digs, spreads and levels dirt and gravel, using hand tools or machinery
- Lifts, carries, and moves materials, tools, supplies
- Operates a variety of dirt moving equipment
- Cleans tools, equipment, materials and work areas
- Performs general preventative maintenance to equipment and general housekeeping
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance, including (but not limited to): check tire pressure, check oil and water levels
- Demonstrates, accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail
- Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities
- Ability to work as a team
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a US Department of Energy Unescorted badge
- Valid driver's license
- At least one year of experience working general labor
- Union Payrate: $34.74/HR
- Schedule/Shift: Mon-Thur; 6:30AM-5:00PM
