Site Supervisor- Violence Reduction Program (VRP)

About the role
This position helps lead the daily operations and staff of the MPS Violence Reduction Program (VRP) in Milwaukee. The Site Supervisor works with the Co-Program Director on contract requirements, including data management, reporting, personnel, and relationships with MPS leadership and the Safety Director. The role ensures coverage at an assigned MPS school and on-call availability for youth seven days a week.
Responsibilities
- Support the Co-Program Director with information for 90-day and annual performance reviews of all staff.
- Provide daily supervision of staff assigned to the MPS school, including check-ins, onsite supervision, and timely documentation.
- Communicate with school staff (teachers, safety staff, administration, guidance counselors, social workers, and psychologists) to ensure referrals, address issues, and gather feedback.
- Report all issues to the Co-Program Director and provide weekly updates to program leadership.
- Approve timesheets and time-off requests to ensure coverage at the assigned school.
- Ensure the program offers services per the contract, including training, tutoring, parent programs, mentoring, and community outreach.
- Build and maintain relationships with school personnel and community partners.
- Coordinate summer activities for VRP participants with the Co-Program Director and other school supervisors.
- Provide general recreation support throughout the year.
- Attend agency, school, and community meetings professionally.
- Support agency events, including Town Halls.
- Ensure compliance with HUB requirements, including paid student employment (400 hours) and career awareness (10 hours).
- Ensure VRP staff receive written parental authorization for mentored students.
- Address personnel issues raised by MPS within two business days, informing HR and the Vice President.
- Facilitate youth and family surveys, sending results to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with Empathy Interviews to maintain a trauma-informed, person-centered approach.
- Participate in annual VRP audits, including data and reporting for MPS.
- Support staff with required databases (AWARDS and MPS systems) and monitor compliance through weekly QA checks.
- Ensure timely, accurate data entry for tracking program goals, benchmarks, and annual MPS performance metrics.
- Support staff compliance with WCS policies and procedures (Power DMS).
- Promote a positive, supportive culture for individuals served and program staff.
- Maintain confidentiality in all communications.
- Adhere to WCS policies and ensure staff review and sign off on them.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum two years of experience with justice-involved youth, reporting, quality assurance, and strong customer service skills.
- Exceptional customer service and person-centered skills.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and database applications.
- Ability to multitask, organize, and assist others in implementing procedures.
- Sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and disability issues.
- Advanced organization skills.
- Cultural competence in responding respectfully to diverse backgrounds.
- Valid driver’s license, automobile, and insurance meeting agency requirements.
- Must pass references, criminal and caregiver background checks, drug test, and driver’s record check.
Work Relationships
Reports directly to the Co-Directors of MPS VRP and works closely with the Director of Milwaukee Youth Services and Vice President of Court & Community Reintegration Services. Oversees a team of 3-5 staff members and interacts with youth, parents, MPS leadership, VRP team members, and other WCS staff.
