About the role
The Site Superintendent plays a hands-on role in the success of mission-critical construction projects, providing on-site leadership and coordination of construction activities for Henderson Building Solutions. This is an on-site, field-based role requiring a regular presence at active construction sites, including exposure to typical jobsite conditions.
Responsibilities
- Supports development and execution of project schedules in coordination with project management, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Aids in pre-construction planning activities, including logistics coordination and schedule preparation.
- Ensures Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and other required safety planning activities are completed prior to pre-construction meeting and field execution activities.
- Supports day-to-day jobsite operations and coordinates daily field activities to maintain schedule adherence, productivity, and alignment with project goals.
- Maintains jobsite organization, cleanliness, and operational standards, and supports implementation of jobsite policies and procedures for an efficient work environment.
- Assists with maintaining project documentation, reports, and schedule updates.
- Participates in daily safety and coordination meetings with field teams and subcontractors.
- Aids in monitoring project progress and communicating field updates to project leadership.
- Supports development and maintenance of look-ahead schedules and field coordination activities.
- Supports a strong safety culture on the jobsite by following company and regulatory safety standards.
- Participates in regular safety observations, meetings, and audits to identify and mitigate jobsite risks.
- Aids in implementing corrective actions related to safety concerns and incidents.
- Ensures compliance with required safety procedures, documentation, and reporting expectations.
- Supports subcontractor adherence to safety requirements and jobsite expectations.
- Collaborates with subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to support project execution efforts.
- Assists with aligning work activities, sequencing, and coordination across trades.
- Communicates field concerns and coordination issues to project leadership for resolution.
- Supports subcontractor accountability related to schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
- Represents the Henderson Building Solutions professionally during jobsite and project interactions.
- Supports efforts to identify labor or schedule disruptions that may impact project progress.
- Coordinates with subcontractors and field leadership to maintain workforce continuity and project support.
- Communicates project impacts, schedule updates, and field conditions to project leadership as appropriate.
- Supports resolution of workforce coordination challenges as needed.
- Supports implementation of project quality control standards and expectations.
- Ensures work is performed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and company standards.
- Communicates quality concerns to project leadership and assists with corrective action efforts.
- Participates in inspections, punch list activities, and quality documentation processes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years of field construction, construction supervision, or related construction industry experience required.
- Mission-critical, data center, or comparable complex-facility experience strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe required.
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe required.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents required.
- Basic understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, site logistics, field coordination, and quality control practices required.
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and teamwork skills required.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal teams required.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
- Trade school, construction-related education, or coursework in construction management preferred.
- Experience supporting commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission critical, or other technically complex construction projects preferred.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades preferred.
- Familiarity with construction technology, project management software, and field reporting systems preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in active construction and office environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and navigate construction sites for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move materials, tools, and equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate a computer, mobile devices, and standard office equipment.
- Ability to travel to local and regional project sites as required, including occasional overnight travel.
- Ability to work schedules necessary to support project and construction activities.

$88,160 – $179,568
