Site Superintendent (High End Residential)
Responsibilities
- Set up the jobsite and implement safety practices.
- Analyze and establish jobsite protection.
- Schedule and supervise pre-start meetings.
- Assist the Project Manager in selecting subcontractors.
- Review shop drawings before submission to the architect.
- Lay out visual components such as lighting, HVAC grills, outlets, and switches.
- Maintain strong project morale and identify underperforming subcontractors early.
- Hold foreman meetings with key subcontractors.
- Ensure subcontractors install materials per contract documents and company standards.
- Communicate project milestones and enforce adherence to the project schedule.
- Evaluate, train, and supervise field employees.
- Negotiate crew, equipment, and labor/truck needs.
- Prepare and distribute weekly three-week look-ahead schedules.
- Schedule subcontractors and pace work according to job progress.
- Order and monitor materials.
- Meet with mechanical contractors prior to framing and oversee tagging and documentation of mechanical systems.
- Videotape interiors prior to insulation.
- Schedule, monitor, and track tools.
- Maintain relationships with neighbors and town officials.
- Request and monitor building department inspections.
- Maintain current construction plans and SK log.
- Request and monitor foundation location and as-built surveys.
- Update and maintain as-built utility site drawings.
- Send RFIs to architects and maintain RFI log.
- Review design drawings for accuracy, practicality, and efficiency.
- Review shop drawings for alignment with as-built conditions and future plans.
- Prepare lumber and trim take-offs.
- Review supplier/subcontractor cuts and literature.
- Conduct and record safety training.
- Maintain jobsite housekeeping.
- Prepare daily field reports and submit them to the office.
- Stay current on budget status and request updates from the Project Manager.
- Document all time-and-material work.
- Create punch lists and collect product warranties and manuals.
- Coincide with the Project Manager on certificate of occupancy inspections and final CO.
Requirements
- 100% proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Strong problem-anticipation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to manage and organize multiple tasks.
- Valid, clean driving record.
Qualifications
- B.S. or B.A. in Business Management, Construction, or related field preferred.
- 7–10 years of residential construction experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Carpentry experience preferred.
- Experience with construction management software.
- High-end residential construction experience.
Skills
- 100% proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Strong problem-anticipation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to manage and organize multiple tasks.
Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $72.16/hr.

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality, customer-focused construction services with a strong emphasis on safety, innovation, and execution. The Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations at the jobsite.
Work Environment
The standard hours are from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional overtime. The role requires spending 95% of the time on the jobsite, involving frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, overhead work, lifting, and carrying materials.
