About the role
The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) position at Brice Builders LLC is based in Alaska, requiring frequent travel to remote project sites. This role oversees and enforces safety protocols, identifies hazards, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and enforce a Project-Specific Accident Prevention Plan.
- Aid in the development, implementation, review, and modification of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
- Maintain safety reference materials and conduct daily safety inspections.
- Conduct incident investigations and prepare reports.
- Document and report job site injuries for workers compensation.
- Attend and participate in pre-work meetings and client safety meetings.
- Maintain safety training records and conduct field safety training.
- Lead weekly and monthly safety meetings.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) continuous years of safety experience in construction or general industry.
- Valid state driver’s license and qualification to operate a vehicle under the Company’s Driving Policy.
- Ability to pass a drug, driving, and background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Familiarity and experience with EM 385-1-1 requirements.
- USACE CQM certificate.
