Role Overview
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a newly forming team. This is an opportunity to establish SRE practices from the ground up, influencing the culture and approach for reliability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating and maintaining Critical User Journeys (CUJs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and Service Level Objectives (SLOs). This role requires a proactive individual who is passionate about driving reliability and enhancing the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain CUJs, SLIs, and SLOs to measure and improve service reliability.
- Conduct blameless post-mortems and manage error budgets to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Participate in role-playing scenarios to prepare for and mitigate potential service disruptions.
- Utilize coding skills to automate tasks and improve system performance.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed reliability principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Communicate technical concepts and reliability metrics effectively to business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role; background in software development or DevOps.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in coding with at least one programming language; solid understanding of SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets; experience with DevOps practices; familiarity with Agile development methodologies; knowledge of SQL.
- Soft Skills: Ability to articulate technical positions with confidence; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
