Site Reliability Engineer (Forward Deployed)

About the role

We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers, ensuring successful Teleport deployments. You will meet regularly with customers, understand pain points blocking deployments, and remove roadblocks. This includes writing and fixing IaC deployments (like Helm charts), developing workarounds, and writing Go code to fix bugs or implement small features. For complex issues, you will collaborate with customers to articulate problems, gather requirements, and make the business case to product and engineering teams for resolution.

Responsibilities

• Work at the intersection of product, engineering, and revenue, collaborating closely with the engineering team.
• Solve problems in networking, performance, security, and integrations with existing systems.
• Write open-source code as part of your role.
• Engage directly with users to understand their needs and challenges.
• Travel to customer sites as needed.
• Adapt to changing focus areas in a startup environment while working directly with customers.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
• Linux systems engineering experience.
• Experience with Go or Rust.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment with shifting priorities.

Pay

Compensation range: $189K - $326K.
