Responsibilities
- Support a world-class monitoring platform that drives IT operations for network, collaboration, data center, and security operations, providing proactive management, monitoring, and optimization of infrastructure and processes to reduce costly inefficiencies, maximize system availability, and improve security and compliance.
- Work closely with delivery teams within Customer Experience, Cisco IQ, and partners to deliver services and strategic consulting engagements that drive real business outcomes.
- Work on a best-in-class network management architecture, including administration and automation of tasks in tools such as ServiceNow, Splunk, and other Cisco technologies.
- Apply Splunk power user skills to write and optimize SPL queries, configure custom alerts, and build dashboards and reports that drive proactive monitoring and faster incident response.
- Experience with compute, virtualization, and container environments including Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, VMware, Microsoft, and Kubernetes.
- Apply technical familiarity with multi-cloud environments, primarily AWS, from a network integration perspective.
- Apply software programmability, automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform, and so on), orchestration, and virtualization technologies to improve and automate customer stacks.
- Build and review project work, including design recommendations, High-Level Design, Low-Level Design, and Implementation/Change Management Plans.
- Work through pressure in high priority and complex situations and outages, diagnosing and solving problems related to the operating system, hardware, network, and related software.
- Work with the team in evolving application infrastructure architecture and make recommendations for improvements.
- Lead all sys-admin functions of the servers, perform patch and software distributions, run security configuration of the systems, provide reports for management use, and demonstrate system health and compliance based on pre-defined standards.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Splunk and ServiceNow.
- Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of professional experience.
- Experience as a Linux Administrator or hands-on experience with Linux (Alma, CentOS).
- Experience with software programmability, automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform, and so on), orchestration, and/or virtualization technologies.
- Experience in ITIL-aligned customer support processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with compute, virtualization, and container environments including Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, VMware, Microsoft, and Kubernetes.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop junior engineers, with experience leading high-visibility strategic consulting engagements.
- Working knowledge of Cisco technologies.
- Experience integrating network services appliances (such as firewalls, IPS, load balancers, WAN optimizers) within Data Center solution designs.
- Experience building and reviewing project work, e.g. design recommendations, High-Level Design, Low-Level Design, and Implementation/Change Management Plans.

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $139,300.00 to $203,600.00 for new hires in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below:
- New York City Metro Area: $167,700.00 - $282,000.00
- Non-Metro New York State & Washington State: $149,100.00 - $250,900.00
For quota-based sales roles, the ranges provided include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.

- 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, with up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next.
- Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members.
- Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer.
- Annual bonuses for non-sales roles, subject to Cisco’s policies.
- For sales roles, performance-based incentive pay on top of base salary, split between quota and non-quota components.
