About the Role

The Site Quality Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for the site's Quality function, overseeing a team of more than 40 quality professionals across Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, and Continuous Improvement activities. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and improving the site's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring product compliance, supporting customer satisfaction initiatives, driving continuous improvement efforts, and developing a high-performing quality organization. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading large teams within manufacturing environments and influencing cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Leadership & Strategy
    • Lead and develop a quality organization of 40+ direct and indirect reports within a large manufacturing facility.
    • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across the site.
    • Establish strategic quality objectives aligned with plant and corporate goals.
    • Serve as the site's primary quality leader and key member of the plant leadership team.
  • Quality Systems & Compliance
    • Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the site's Quality Management System (QMS).
    • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, corporate, and industry quality requirements.
    • Oversee internal audits, certification audits, customer audits, and corrective action activities.
    • Monitor quality performance metrics and drive actions to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to improve product quality and process capability.
    • Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, preventive actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methodologies to reduce defects and improve performance.
    • Drive initiatives that improve customer satisfaction, warranty performance, scrap reduction, and overall cost of quality.
  • Customer & Supplier Quality
    • Serve as the escalation point for critical customer quality concerns.
    • Lead efforts related to customer audits, complaint resolution, and quality performance reviews.
    • Partner with suppliers to improve incoming material quality and supplier performance.
    • Support new product introductions and process changes from a quality perspective.
  • Talent Development
    • Develop and mentor quality leaders and high-potential employees throughout the organization.
    • Establish succession plans and career development opportunities within the Quality team.
    • Promote employee engagement and accountability while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive quality leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large quality organizations, including direct leadership of teams of 20+ employees.
  • Experience leading quality functions within complex, high-volume manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), auditing, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence organizational change.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading quality teams within large-scale manufacturing facilities.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, CQE, CQM, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence programs.
  • Exposure to multiple manufacturing industries such as automotive, industrial manufacturing, chemicals, metals, consumer products, building products, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, or other process and discrete manufacturing environments.
