About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity with a leading industrial construction and energy solutions organization, focused on large-scale EPC and heavy industrial projects. The role centers on site-level leadership across complex construction programs, including boiler systems, steam generation, and multidisciplinary builds. The position will begin remotely and transition to an on-site leadership role in the Midwest as the project ramps. This is a true builder role—ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity and wants to stand up and operationalize a new business line from the ground up. You’ll have full ownership of execution strategy, team buildout, and site operations, acting as the senior-most leader on-site. The organization is investing heavily in this initiative, and they need a seasoned construction leader who can create structure, drive performance, and establish a high-functioning operation. This is a high-impact opportunity with strong visibility, autonomy, and the ability to shape long-term business success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead overall site execution strategy, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management
  • Direct and develop Site Project Managers, ensuring alignment across all project scopes and phases
  • Oversee safety programs and quality control processes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards
  • Manage procurement strategy, subcontractor selection, and contract administration
  • Coordinate daily field operations across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and piping scopes
  • Serve as the primary client-facing leader, managing stakeholder communication and expectations
  • Drive commissioning, testing, and final project turnover to ensure successful delivery

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in construction project management within heavy industrial, utility, or power generation environments
  • Proven experience leading large-scale EPC or industrial construction projects from preconstruction through turnover
  • Strong background in site execution, including safety, quality, cost, and schedule management
  • Experience leading and developing teams of Project Managers and field personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous, or startup-like environments
  • Experience with contract management, procurement strategy, and subcontractor oversight
  • Knowledge of permitting, regulatory compliance, and construction safety standards

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with boilers, steam generation systems, or related equipment
  • Background in boilermaking or closely related trades
  • Experience building new processes, workflows, or business lines
  • Familiarity with Primavera or similar scheduling tools
  • Knowledge of ASME, NFPA, and welding procedures
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus bonus potential
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Retirement savings plan with company contribution
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Opportunities for career growth and leadership advancement

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
