About the role
The Site Program Manager (SPM) is the on-site leader of a Think Together educational program conducted on a partner-school campus. The SPM oversees all aspects of the state-wide recognized after-school program, ensuring it meets educational and recreational requirements, operates safely and efficiently, and functions in accordance with policies and operational procedures. The SPM is responsible for student safety, site operations, program quality, and fostering positive partner relationships through effective communication. This role requires managing multiple components and funding streams, with availability during varying times, including before school, after school, non-instructional days, weekends, summers, and winters.
The SPM supervises all Think Together Program staff and volunteers, ensures administrative and documentation requirements are met, and serves as the primary contact between Think Together and students, parents, school administration, donors, and other collaborators. The SPM ensures compliance with all terms of the agreement between Think Together and the school district and manages adherence to program requirements established by the program model and funding stipulations.
This position has two job levels, differentiated by student attendance goals, program leader oversight, and site-level complexities such as headcount, services, and hours of operation.
Responsibilities
- Manages successful day-to-day site operations and program activities, ensuring alignment with Think Together’s mission and core agreements: Be responsible, Be respectful, Be safe, and Have fun.
- Monitors and assesses program success, including participation levels, activity quality, behaviors, and student achievement for continuous improvement.
- Implements Think Together’s Program Design and curriculum to ensure academic success and student engagement.
- Trains and coaches staff on routines, procedures, program design, and instructional practices for academic and enrichment success.
- Provides printed lessons, materials, and supplies to staff and ensures student engagement.
- Ensures a safe and healthy environment for students and staff, implementing safety guidelines and school safety plans, and reporting all incidents.
- Supervises, trains, disciplines, and terminates site staff, including conducting interviews and recommendations.
- Ensures sustainability of funding sources by meeting attendance targets (ADA), grant requirements, and other metrics.
- Maintains accurate student enrollment data, attendance records, and program documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
- Meets regularly with school principals and faculty to align academic goals and initiatives.
- Communicates program activities and incidents to school administrators, staff, and parents.
- Provides excellent customer service to all stakeholders and fosters effective working relationships.
- Manages site-level budgets and ensures accurate approval of timecards for direct reports.
- Attends SPM meetings, training, and other required gatherings.
- Implements plans related to program quality, customer experience, and business needs while meeting all deadlines.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D required; Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
- For Level 1: 1-2+ years of experience in education/youth programs; at least 1+ year in a supervisory or leadership role (2+ years preferred).
- For Level 2: 2-3+ years of experience in education/youth programs; at least 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role (3+ years preferred).
- Previous classroom experience required.
- Strong ability to communicate with students, parents, and school staff both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent program management skills, including completing tasks on time and within budget.
- Bilingual/Bi-cultural (Spanish) may be required in some districts.
- CPR/First Aid certified or ability to obtain within the first 60 days of hire.
- Satisfactory TB skin test and passing background check (DOJ & FBI).

- Completion of Think Together’s Build the Bench Program for SPM (internal candidates preferred).
