Site Medical Director

About the role

The Site Medical Director provides clinical care, site leadership, and guides the professional practice of their Health Center. They embody the mission of OCHS, serve as a key member of the Leadership Team, and are responsible for delivering high quality, efficient, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive and continuing care to patients through diagnosis and treatment at Health Centers or other locations within OCHS’s scope or practice, referring patients as necessary.
• Serve as leader of a clinic team to manage the health of a panel of patients, including regular communication with the team regarding the managed population.
• Supervise and collaborate with other health care professionals such as nurse practitioners, physician assistants, staff registered nurses, medical assistants, and other allied health care staff, as appropriate, to ensure the proper delivery of medical care to patients.
• Keep accurate, complete, legible, and timely medical and other records as required by law and OCHS's policies.
• Participate in patient care audits for quality assurance and utilization review to maintain and improve patient care standards of excellence.
• Provide administrative management input for staff performance reviews, hiring decisions, and disciplinary issues.
• Participate with the on-call schedule as assigned, including coverage of weekend shifts as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of current developments in specialty to enhance professional expertise, including maintaining Board Certification if applicable and completing CME as needed to maintain licensure.
• Maintain a good working relationship with other physicians and health care professionals within the Health Center and OCHS administrative and support staff.
• Participate in regular clinical practitioner and staff meetings.
• Ensure that participation in activities outside of the Health Center does not interfere with duties hereunder.

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. degree, board certification or eligibility in an appropriate specialty, and a current medical license in Massachusetts.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Possess and maintain a valid and unlimited license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Possess a valid federal Drug Enforcement Administration number, and any other required state public health certifications with respect to prescribing privileges.
• Accepts assignment under the Medicare and Medicaid programs, and a qualified provider with respect to such other third-party payers with whom the Health Center may do business.
• Maintain full privileges as a member in good standing of the Health Center’s Medical/professional staff and comply with all by-laws and rules and regulations thereof.
• Additional training or experience in health care leadership.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, organizational abilities, computer experience, and the ability to work within a collaborative team setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – bi-lingual helpful.
• Proficiency in computer skills including EPIC, Outlook, Microsoft office, OneDrive etc.
• Excellent judgment and ability to solve problems in a timely manner.
• Able to adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
• Able to work effectively both as a team member and independently.
• Able to work in a culturally diverse and inclusive environment.

Benefits

Outer Cape Health Services is an inclusive and equal opportunity employer. The salary range for this position is $105,000/annually to $255,000/annually. This range is provided to promote equity and transparency in our hiring process. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
