About the role
This position at Pathways supports individuals in recovery from substance use disorder and mental health challenges through peer support services.
Responsibilities
- Provide Peer Support Services through: Sharing lived experience to support and encourage recovery, Advocating for individuals in recovery, Assisting consumers with skill-building and resource connection, Facilitating community relationships and support systems, Leading peer support sessions and mentoring assigned consumers, Assisting consumers in developing and achieving recovery goals
- Manage daily operations of the TAYLRD Drop-In Center during operational hours
- Provide direct supervision and support to assigned TAYLRD staff
- Conduct outreach activities and collaborate with community partners and systems of care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and state requirements
- Adhere to all Pathways policies and procedures and applicable regulations, including 908 KAR 2:220
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Certification as a Youth Peer Support Specialist (YPSS) through a state-approved training program, or ability to obtain certification prior to hire with agency support
- Must meet YPSS credential age requirement of 35 years old or younger
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of DBHDID-sanctioned 30-hour Peer Support Specialist training required (training/retraining available through Pathways if needed)
- At least one (1) year of managerial or supervisory experience required
- Qualifying lived experience consistent with Peer Support Specialist regulations
- Experience with substance use disorder (SUD) and/or mental health (MH) recovery populations preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change and work collaboratively within a team environment

- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
- Working effectively with youth and young adults in recovery
- Providing services in compliance with Kentucky regulations and Pathways policies and procedures
