About the role
The Site Manager will oversee all aspects of the Portland, OR site and report into the Regional General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Execute the company's strategic objectives while meeting customer commitments and stated financial goals.
- Work with the Wilsonville leadership team to uphold operational excellence at the site.
- Support the staffing of the organization with qualified personnel and ensure the shop floor is trained on best practices and improved operations models.
- Implement systems and processes for standardizing work and removing bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with engineering and program management to ensure programmatic success and alignment throughout all departments.
- Ensure proper facility utilization and product flow across the site.
- Establish operational metrics to improve equipment utilization, labor productivity, and profitability.
- Adhere to and report on company financials and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the site.
- Ensure overall site safety and safety policy.
- Hire staff and support future growth initiatives through strong business partnerships with HR.
- Manage customer relationships and proposal/contracting processes.
- Lead a robust sales initiative to win new customers and new programs, capturing 20% growth year over year.
- Manage facility and equipment utilization to ensure sufficient capacity for future growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science required, Master’s degree preferred.
- 15+ years’ experience in an aerospace and defense engineering and manufacturing environment.
- Background in leading program execution and operations within a Space/Missile/Defense/Hypersonic environment.
- Experience in operations and business development.
- Experience managing a P&L.
- Expertise in mechanical and technical environments.
- Ability to work with diverse/complex business models in midsize to large organizations.
- Demonstrated performance leading in a matrixed environment.
- Strong leadership background.
- Leverage lean/six-sigma experience.
- Established background in driving operational excellence.
- Proven ability to drive/sustain operational growth.
- Heavy focus on compliance and AS9100 quality systems experience.
