About the role

At El Car Wash, Site Managers don't just run operations — they lead the business. You own your site's performance from team development to customer experience to financial results. You set the tone, raise the standard, build a culture your team is proud to be part of, and deliver results every single day.

Responsibilities

  • Run the business - Lead all day-to-day operations — staffing, scheduling, performance, and execution — to deliver a high-performing site.
  • Build and lead a winning team - Hire, train, coach, and develop your team to perform at a high level and grow within EL. Create succession depth — your best hire is the one you developed.
  • Create a standout customer experience - Set the standard for fast, friendly, and flawless service — resolving concerns quickly and turning moments into lasting loyalty.
  • Build a collaborative culture - Create an environment where the team works together, handles conflict constructively, and holds each other to the standard without you having to manage every interaction.
  • Drive performance and results - Own sales, labor, and operational metrics — read the data, explain the variance, and take action before it becomes a pattern.
  • Lead with safety and compliance - Enforce all safety protocols and ensure a safe environment for customers and team members at all times.
  • Own equipment and uptime - Maintain equipment, minimize downtime, and ensure everything is running reliably.
  • Use data to lead - Analyze reports, financials, and performance metrics to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in a managerial or supervisory role — car wash, automotive, or service industry preferred
  • Strong talent developer — you build people up, retain top performers, and create succession depth
  • Financial literacy — you understand labor, revenue, and cost drivers and can walk through your numbers
  • Operationally excellent — you balance speed, safety, quality, and efficiency without tradeoffs
  • Comfortable being the decision-maker when things go wrong — you don't wait
  • Culture builder — you address team conflict directly and constructively; you don't let it fester
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems
  • Knowledge of car wash equipment, maintenance, and safety practices or willingness to learn quickly
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
