Amentum is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Site Manager to drive preventive maintenance programs and optimize facility operations. You will manage substantial budgets, supervise critical infrastructure repairs, and implement sustainable practices that reduce costs while maintaining high safety standards. Your expertise will directly impact our bottom line.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and System Optimization: Develop and audit comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) programs to extend asset lifecycles and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Lifecycle Asset Management: Monitor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to lead long-term capital replacement planning.
- Process Automation: Leverage facility management software (CMMS) to streamline work orders, improve response times, and track maintenance KPIs.
- Operational Oversight: Perform routine walkthroughs to ensure safety protocols and quality expectations are met.
- Infrastructure Reliability: Direct daily maintenance, repair, and improvement of building systems, including HVAC, fire/life safety, and power distribution.
- Vendor and Contract Management: Source, negotiate, and manage third-party service contracts, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure facility compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other local, state, and federal regulations.
- Budgetary Stewardship: Manage the facilities Operations & Maintenance (O&M) budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities through energy efficiency and strategic sourcing.
- Team Leadership: Supervise technicians and staff, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and safety training.
- Resource Allocation: Analyze facility data and utility trends to optimize resource consumption and support sustainability goals.
- Customer Focus: Maintain positive client relationships and understand partnership dynamics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Facility Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or 8+ years of industrial facilities maintenance experience (considered equivalent).
- 5+ years of facility operations/maintenance experience, including supervisory roles in a technical field.
- Working knowledge of purchasing, subcontracts, or vendor management.
- Proficiency in CMMS and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience creating and delivering presentations to large audiences.
- Staff management experience, including hiring, disciplinary action, terminations, and performance appraisals.
- Experience in metrics creation, data mining, and performance-driven analysis.
- Predictive maintenance experience (e.g., infrared scanning, ultrasonic, vibration/oil analysis, root cause analysis).
- Budget management and contract negotiation experience.
- Experience in new business start-ups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or training from organizations like IFMA, AFE, or BOMA.
- Experience in GMP or similarly regulated environments.
- Vibration Analysis Training/Certification.
- CMRP or STS certification.
Physical Requirements
- Repetitive wrist movement and extensive walking throughout facilities.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work in varied physical positions (bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching).
- Color differentiation for wire coding and reading documents/computer screens.
- Use of office equipment (keyboards, phones) and ability to attend on-site/off-site meetings.
- Light to medium lifting for material handling.
- Professional interaction with clients under stress.
Special Requirements
- Wear steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other PPE as needed.
- Ability to manage job-related stressors while maintaining performance.
- Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.
- Valid Driver’s License (position may require one).
- Ability to obtain a security access badge at the client’s location.
- No U.S. work authorization sponsorship provided.
Pay
$70,000–$80,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.
