Responsibilities
- General Operations management: evaluate post orders and make necessary updates; review daily log reports and provide direction to shift-level supervisors; ensure the security team meets company standards.
- Human Resources management: select and place security professionals and front-line supervisory personnel, conduct performance reviews, manage attendance, and resolve conflicts; schedule as needed; design and implement career development and performance improvement programs.
- Monthly reporting: prepare and submit a detailed monthly report to facilities and corporate security organizations regarding security and safety activities.
- Safety program administration: administer the safety program; conduct semi-annual reviews and revisions of the security emergency response plan; monitor compliance with regulatory and fire prevention requirements and safety items.
- System testing and maintenance: conduct monthly testing of security systems; follow up on corrections and maintenance issues; perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly audits.
- Overtime reduction: implement strategies to reduce overtime.
- Team development: oversee the development and cross-training of security team members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licenses required, subject to state and local laws.
- Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in operational management of a large semi-independent business enterprise.
- Experience supervising emergency preparedness and response procedures.
- Experience implementing corporate security directives, building community partnerships with local law enforcement and emergency response agencies, and managing security personnel.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, enforcing physical security measures and practices, and ensuring client directives are carried out on an ongoing basis.
- Experience leading a diverse team of security personnel.
- Proven ability to make decisions without management present based upon security operational guidelines.
- Advanced relationship building, effective oral and written communication, planning and organizing, proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, problem-solving, active listening, attention to detail, research, investigation, compilation of information, conflict mediation, coaching, mentoring, motivating, and administrative and leadership abilities.
- College degree in Business Administration or a law enforcement-related field preferred.
- ASIS International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
- Law enforcement experience (military police or civilian law enforcement) preferred.
- Military experience preferred.
- Certified public safety academy graduate (e.g., Law Enforcement, Firefighter/Paramedic, Corrections Officer) preferred.
