About the role

This is a general laborer position assigned to a specific Base or Commissary. It may be assigned to more than one Base/Commissary based upon the contracts. The individual must be able to travel to multiple locations (in an assigned company vehicle) and may require overnight travel, depending on contract needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform prescribed, routine maintenance procedures on commissary systems and work with the Building Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair when necessary.
  • Understand the specific location contract and partner with the commissary management team to meet needs and specifications.
  • Complete basic general labor and/or construction activities such as painting, electrical and wiring, and general building repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of Hussmann’s products and new product development through service bulletins, previous issues, and announcements.
  • Demonstrate understanding and adherence to all work safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete all necessary documents and electronic communication thoroughly, accurately, and timely, including using a handheld computer for customer paperwork and invoicing.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer service relations with both internal and external customers.
  • Provide coordination and feedback on vendors and subcontractors to facilitate and resolve project issues.
  • Promote and deliver a positive reflection of the Behaviors for Success.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Technical College Diploma or Certificate in Refrigeration preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities or Refrigeration Services.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record per Motor Vehicle Policies.
  • Ability to pass a stringent and elevated background check for entry into government facilities.
  • Required EPA and Refrigeration Licenses based on Federal and Local regulations.
  • Mid-level computer skills.
  • Physical ability to walk, climb ladders, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work daytime, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $17.59 - $29.31 per hour. Actual compensation varies depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage will be the greater of the posted range or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
