About the role

As a Site Lead, you will spend the majority of your time at the customer’s site performing maintenance and coordinating daily activities for on-site technicians. Under minimal supervision, you will lead a site-based team, overseeing the work of field service technicians to meet production schedules and quality standards. This role requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and the ability to troubleshoot electronic and mechanical systems. You will mentor lower-level technicians, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain high proficiency across all product lines at the customer site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate shift schedules and work assignments for field service technicians to meet department schedules.
  • Work with the Area Manager to ensure shift schedules align with customer needs, adjusting for peak periods as necessary.
  • Distribute preventative and corrective maintenance workload efficiently among technicians at the assigned site.
  • Serve as the frontline interface with stakeholders, including airlines, TSA, and baggage handling vendors, reporting issues or escalations.
  • Provide input to the Area Manager on staffing requirements and assist in meeting contractual SLAs for assigned sites.
  • Maintain continuity of workload by performing site maintenance as needed and addressing technician performance issues.
  • Respond to emergency and non-scheduled service calls within established response time goals.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by meeting daily service repair needs and fostering positive customer relations.
  • Order, install, and return parts, and manage repair parts cycle time while maintaining accurate inventory of parts and tools.
  • Maintain currency on all technical certifications and review logs/maintenance tracking systems for open issues.
  • Ensure tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Assess product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommend modifications or improvements.
  • Participate in site surveys, pilot programs, meetings, and special projects, and prepare exclusive reports as needed.
  • Maintain clear and concise business communication, both oral and written.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other Site Leads and Tech Support to stay aware of technical trends.
  • Control and minimize costs while maximizing revenue.
  • Submit expenses, timecards, and other administrative tasks within specified timelines.
  • Comply with company health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as U.S. export control and security regulations.
  • Perform other duties as required, including travel, overtime, and off-shift work as assigned.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree in a related field (industrial, electrical, electronic, mechanical) or equivalent work/life experience (>8 years in a related electrical or mechanical field service role).
  • Certification in networking or systems integration (A+, CCNA, or similar) preferred.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software; Linux experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing advanced/integrated electrical and electronic systems in the field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervision experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer-focused, team-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel at short notice and pass an in-depth background check (TSA eQIP).

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask several projects at once.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable individual with excellent telephone skills.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs, push/pull 200 lbs, and move/manipulate equipment weighing up to 1000 lbs with assistance from carts, hoists, or other devices.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, and working in unusual positions requiring full body mobility.
  • Ability to work safely in extreme environments (temperature, humidity, noise, confined spaces) around dangerous industrial equipment.
  • Willingness to work on-call, off-shift, and emergency support as needed.

Work Environment

The work environment is typically off-site at customer locations, including airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, or other sites as required. Travel may be up to 75% to support field service activities and customer relationships.

Pay

Pay Range: $73,450.00 - $132,775.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors considered include responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market data.
