About the role

This is a customer-facing role serving as the single point of contact onsite to support automation systems post-implementation. The Site Engineering Specialist guides the customer’s onsite technicians, drives operational excellence, and acts as the primary liaison between the customer and TGW for all automation-related matters. The role ensures the overall performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of the material handling system. This position is based at the customer facility in Statesville, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary onsite liaison between the customer and TGW, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and effective execution of automation-related activities.
  • Guide and develop customer maintenance and operations teams, providing hands-on support, mentorship, and training to improve overall system knowledge and capability.
  • Build strong relationships with customer leadership and site personnel to proactively identify improvement opportunities and mitigate operational risk.
  • Lead and coordinate maintenance activities, including Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM), troubleshooting, and repair of automated systems.
  • Provide advanced technical support (electrical, mechanical, and controls) and mentor technicians in resolving complex system issues.
  • Support incident management, ensuring timely resolution of issues and leading root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required. Associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of mechatronic troubleshooting and repair of material handling systems (conveyors, AS/RS, shuttles).
  • Proven experience supervising maintenance teams in automated warehouse or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong leadership and people development skills, including experience mentoring both technicians and customer teams.
  • Comfortable leading other team members without a formal direct reporting relationship.
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms and maintenance planning processes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
