About the role
A fully on-site Site Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting on-site operations at a major steel facility. Your responsibilities include managing inventory through physical counts and system updates, coordinating logistics, supporting refractory application activities, tracking performance, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage on-site inventory through physical counts and system updates (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually)
- Cook daily logistics and inbound materials to support production needs
- Support refractory application activities and maintain inventory accuracy and housekeeping
- Parel refractory crews to monitor usage and identify quality or application issues
- Track and analyze refractory performance, including wear rates and consumption trends
- Maintain and update systems (CPP and others) with actuals, goals, and action plans
- Compile KPI data and contribute to monthly and quarterly performance reporting
- Support quarterly results presentations and participate in discussions with internal and customer stakeholders
- Support customer continuous improvement initiatives and meetings
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and site requirements at all times
Requirements
- Ability to learn and apply inventory control processes and standards
- Experience or familiarity with heavy industrial or manufacturing environments (steel industry is a plus)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to track, interpret, and communicate data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with or ability to learn ERP/MRP systems (SAP experience preferred)
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with stakeholders at all levels
- Self-starter mindset with a hands-on, results-driven approach
- Flexibility for occasional overtime, on-call needs, or trial support activities
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required
- Commitment to safety and working effectively in demanding plant environments
