Site Coordinator After School Program

Major Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily operation of the after-school program
• Supervise children and provide a safe, welcoming environment
• Understand, follow and maintain all licensing regulations set by the state of CT Office of Early Childhood
• Maintain positive relationships with families, children, and school personnel
• Maintain student registration system and paperwork
• Daily set up and clean up of program site
• Attend mandatory Site Coordinator and Staff meetings as scheduled (usually evenings)
• First Aid/CPR/Meds Admin certification to be acquired within 3 months of hire
• Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3 credits in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education and 240 working hours with children OR complete the OEC Head Teacher Certification course online (approx 45 hrs) and have 240 working hours experience with children.
• Must be present 5 days a week and/or 80% of the hours the site is in operation.
• Working towards or possess a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or a related field (i.e. social work, education, psychology).
• At least 240 hours experience working with Elementary School Aged Children.
• Knowledge of Child Development
• Awareness of Age-Appropriate curriculum activities
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
