Site Civil Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

About the role

Woolpert is hiring a Site Civil Engineer Intern to join our dynamic Civil Engineering team in one of several locations: Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Dayton, OH; Fairview Heights, IL; Harrisburg, PA; Indianapolis, IN; Knoxville, TN; Miami, FL; New York, NY; Pittsburgh, PA; Richmond, VA; Salt Lake City, UT. This internship is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country where the job is located; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Design and create site layout plans in alignment with client requirements and Woolpert standards.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop concept plans, grading plans, and site designs.
• Strong interest and working knowledge in hydrology and stormwater management.
• Proven ability to multi-task, appropriately prioritize workflow and complete tasks.
• Work with project management team to identify impediments and develop/implement solutions to overcome obstacles.
• Perform pavement assessments and compile data and reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering.
• Zero to two years of related experience.

Skills

• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Experience in hydraulics and hydrology (preferred).
• Ability to perform occasional field work, frequent local travel, and overnight travel as needed.

Pay

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay range: $23 – $27 USD per hour.

Schedule

Full‑time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday during standard working hours (9 am – 5 pm).
