Responsibilities

  • Complete required training programs, including Operator Qualifications and others as required.
  • Check job site conditions for safety and compliance.
  • Inspect natural gas pipeline installation activities, including excavation, installation, and backfill/restoration.
  • Verify adherence to client construction standards, engineering drawings, specifications, and safety protocols.
  • Utilize a company-issued iPad to complete daily reports, inspection documentation, schedule updates, timecards, and expense reports.
  • Prepare detailed daily site check reports, including photos, notes, measurements, and condition updates.
  • Confirm that materials, equipment, and installed components meet project requirements.
  • Assist inspectors in locating and verifying the status of underground utility installations.
  • Report safety concerns immediately and escalate issues to supervisors as needed.
  • Identify hazardous conditions, unsafe practices, or violations of safety protocols.
  • Work independently while maintaining collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Positions self to access tools and materials in various locations.
  • Traverses job sites having uneven terrain, slopes, confined spaces, or reinforced trenches.
  • Conducts visual assessments of task quality and job site safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • 1-3 years experience with construction, underground utility installation, locating, surveying, mapping, and/or design.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, PHMSA, NESC, and state utility regulations preferred.
  • Knowledge of 49 CFR 192 & 195 regulations preferred.
  • Familiarity with operator qualifications and polyethylene joining methods preferred.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required.
  • AWS CWI or CPWI+V certification preferred.
  • API 1169 certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in mobile technology (iPad) for reporting and documentation.
  • Knowledge of DataFi reporting tools preferred.
  • Microsoft Suite Products (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc).
  • Primarily field-based role; must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed, as required by the project, client, or hiring manager.
  • Reliable transportation required and the ability to travel daily within assigned territory. Travel may be required.
