About the role
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations and successful project execution by developing procurement strategies and fostering strong supplier relationships. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Quality, Project Management, and Operations), manage supplier negotiations and performance reviews, and much more.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the SunRail O&M site on all procurement activities (stock replenishment, services, and projects).
- Ensuring project execution in line with Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) objectives.
- Piloting local contractual relationships with suppliers.
- Identifying project and business needs.
- Preparing and launching Requests for Quotation (RFQ) with suppliers using the standard tool.
- Negotiating cost reductions with suppliers.
- Providing inputs for order placement and ensuring QCD target achievement, including claims management.
- Leading supplier performance reviews and managing initial issues before escalation.
- Consolidating commodity needs and actively participating in commodity strategy and panel elaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business Management, or a related field.
- Experience or understanding of procurement strategies, supplier development, and contract negotiations.
- Knowledge of SAP Procurement (mandatory).
- Familiarity with rolling stock procurement and/or operation and maintenance environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convince others.
- Negotiation skills.
- Ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities autonomously.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Respect for ethical conduct and adherence to Alstom’s Code of Ethics.
- Fluent in English.
Qualifications
- Full-time position available at the SunRail O&M site in Sanford, Florida.
- Experience in procurement and negotiation preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP Procurement is mandatory.
- Experience in rolling stock procurement or operation and maintenance environments is beneficial.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Fluency in English is required.
