About the role

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations and successful project execution by developing procurement strategies and fostering strong supplier relationships. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Quality, Project Management, and Operations), manage supplier negotiations and performance reviews, and much more.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the SunRail O&M site on all procurement activities (stock replenishment, services, and projects).
  • Ensuring project execution in line with Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) objectives.
  • Piloting local contractual relationships with suppliers.
  • Identifying project and business needs.
  • Preparing and launching Requests for Quotation (RFQ) with suppliers using the standard tool.
  • Negotiating cost reductions with suppliers.
  • Providing inputs for order placement and ensuring QCD target achievement, including claims management.
  • Leading supplier performance reviews and managing initial issues before escalation.
  • Consolidating commodity needs and actively participating in commodity strategy and panel elaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Experience or understanding of procurement strategies, supplier development, and contract negotiations.
  • Knowledge of SAP Procurement (mandatory).
  • Familiarity with rolling stock procurement and/or operation and maintenance environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convince others.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities autonomously.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Respect for ethical conduct and adherence to Alstom’s Code of Ethics.
  • Fluent in English.

Qualifications

  • Full-time position available at the SunRail O&M site in Sanford, Florida.
  • Experience in procurement and negotiation preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP Procurement is mandatory.
  • Experience in rolling stock procurement or operation and maintenance environments is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in English is required.
