About the role
Operates gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-powered industrial equipment equipped with lifting devices, such as sit-down, stand-up, clamp or other elevating equipment to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in distribution center or storage yard.
Responsibilities
- Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrial equipment.
- Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
- Inspect assigned equipment daily.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
- Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
- Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of products are loaded and shipped.
- Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers, or containers.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report quality variances.
- Maintain tight inventory control and security through appropriate records and reports.
- Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Follow customer requirements and/or other instructions to ensure accuracy: load count, stability of product, and safe loading/unloading.
- Coordinate as necessary with Customer Service, Transportation, Maintenance, and other departments/functions.
- Perform good housekeeping practices, including a “clean as you go” process.
- Conduct operations and equipment in a manner that promotes safety; report unsafe conditions that can’t be self-corrected to the leadership team.
- Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices; report noncompliance when observed.
- Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g., OSHA, company, etc.).
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment (e.g., protective footwear, protective eyewear, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safety policies.
Pay
$20.50/hour plus $1.50 shift differential.
