Simulation Lab Manager

About the role

This full-time Simulation Lab Manager position reports to the Chair of the Department of Nursing at Westminster College. The role oversees the simulation lab’s policies, operations, budget, and accreditation support while collaborating with faculty and external partners such as UPMC Jameson and NOGA. A student-oriented approach and strong customer service focus are valued for maintaining relationships with College partners.

Responsibilities

• Establish simulation lab policies, procedures, and safety precautions.
• Manage logistics and operations of simulated experiences for students, including those from external partners.
• Develop and maintain an inventory plan for all supplies and resources needed to perform simulation scenarios.
• Assist in restoring the lab to pre-scenario conditions.
• Assist faculty and external partners with simulation experiences, including audio-visual equipment, running software programs, and retrieving recordings for student review.
• Assist in researching purchasing options for lab equipment and software.
• Participate in professional and technical training.
• Oversee the simulation lab budget and project yearly expenditures, ensuring invoices are paid and subscriptions are renewed.
• Assist faculty with the development of new skills modules.
• Contribute to accreditation and federal reports by assisting with the assessment of student learning outcomes in simulation environments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Nursing Department, the Office of Academic Affairs, and the Office of the President.

Requirements

• BSN degree required.
• Previous experience in a simulation lab role considered favorably.
• Prior experience with technology preferred.
• Attention to detail and careful recordkeeping are essential.
