About the role
Simulation of assembly processes based on customer requirements, quality systems, financial investment, and labor plans. Verify the implementation of new processes and selection of equipment to be purchased. Resolve issues with quality plans, product design, manufacturability, or build process steps. Participate in the adoption of new technologies and processes to achieve greater efficiency. Consult on the selection and implementation of automation and robotics in assembly processes.
Responsibilities
- Layout and simulate manufacturing plans for new programs that will require new equipment or retool of existing equipment.
- Model operational environments, perform system simulations, and recommend alternative architectures.
- Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks to assess system survivability, system effectiveness, and overall system performance in engagement/mission-level scenarios.
- Build a simulation library of standard equipment kinetics.
- Lead the creation of plant layouts in 3D software.
- Gather all relevant product information, production rates, and assembly requirements from customer contacts.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to gather necessary data and communicate intermediate and final results.
- Work with other disciplines to ensure the necessary details related to the process and the model are fully coordinated.
- Work with other engineers and analysts to develop new and/or integrate existing system simulation frameworks, performance models, threat models, and command and control models.
- Work with the PC&L team to optimize material flow to the production line.
- Use process simulation to design intent OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Promote health and safety in all phases of engineering and launch.
- Maintain equipment records by updating the equipment database.
- Protect organization value by keeping information confidential and cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
