Simulation Engineer

About the Role
American Rheinmetall is seeking a part-time Simulation Engineer to develop simulation models of its manufacturing operations. These models will represent the operation’s throughput, material movement, equipment requirements, space needs, and labor planning.
Responsibilities
- Within Siemens Plant Simulation, build discrete event simulation models for various parts of the manufacturing or logistic process – Machine, Weld, Paint, and General Assembly.
- Develop 3D models that simulate throughput capabilities, bottlenecks, buffer sizing, and material routing.
- Co-develop standards for discrete event simulation models including development of a library of simulation assets with properties and performance characteristics.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in simulation model development using Siemens Plant Simulation.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing engineering, with focus on applying discrete event simulation to enhance process efficiency.
- Structured problem solver with experience in discrete event simulation and experience working in manufacturing operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology.
