Signal Processing Software Engineer
About the Role
As a Signal Processing Software Engineer with Sabre Systems, you will support the Airborne Acoustic Signal Processing (AASP) team, developing and integrating software and tools for the U.S. Navy's P-8A Poseidon Maritime Surveillance and Patrol Aircraft. You will contribute to the Many-Channel Programmable Acoustic Processor Stimulator (McPAPS) and operational acoustics software, focusing on acoustic signal simulation and system performance testing.
Responsibilities
- Analyze user needs and develop software solutions using principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Update software or enhance existing capabilities using C/C++.
- Write and maintain functional and implementation specifications.
- Apply knowledge of computer science, mathematics, and statistical analysis to develop acoustic signal simulation software.
- Collaborate with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, developing specifications and performance requirements.
- Maintain databases within an application area.
- Utilize tools such as Matlab, Python, Git, and Visual Studio.
- Work with Windows and Linux operating systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics with a minimum of 3 years of signal processing-related experience.
- Ability to develop and sustain software that performs signal processing using C/C++ or working from Matlab prototypes.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux as development environments.
- Experience in developing and maintaining requirement documentation.
- Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing & Communications Concepts, including:
- FIR/IIR Filtering
- Multi-Rate Filtering
- Analog/Digital Communications (FM/FSK/GFSK)
- FFT/Correlation Analysis
- Software Defined Radios
- MIMO
- Intermediate knowledge of Matlab or equivalent tool.
- Willingness to gain and maintain an industry certification required for a Privileged Access Agreement with NAVAIR.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance (active DoD Secret Clearance is highly desired).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000, based on location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements.
