About the role

Amphenol Spectra-Strip, a leader in hyper-scale data center bulk wire solutions, is seeking a Signal Integrity Engineer to join the team in Nashua, NH. We develop and manufacture gigabit copper cable solutions for high-performance and cloud compute applications.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and coordinate with customers, plan and complete signal integrity-focused projects from design to validation to production ramp.
  • Manage and provide real-time technical leadership in a complex, dynamic environment.
  • Serve as the architect for signal integrity capability and competencies for Spectra-Strip.
  • Engage with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers on signal integrity topics.
  • Determine resource requirements and communicate them to management with appropriate justification.
  • Identify and overcome obstacles, proactively planning creative and effective mitigation strategies.
  • Design, simulate, characterize, and apply high-speed electrical cables.
  • Provide solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors for high-speed data transmission requirements, resolving signal integrity issues at any phase of the product life cycle.
  • Communicate signal integrity concepts to diverse audiences in the factory and during customer interactions.
  • Apply PLM rules for revision control, change management, and communication of signal integrity modeling.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field and 2+ years of current experience in interconnect signal integrity measurement and/or simulation.
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic principles for digital signal integrity.
  • Experience with signal integrity and electromagnetic simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave. Experience with MATLAB, ADS, and HSPICE is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with frequency-domain and time-domain component and circuit characterization, including understanding of test and calibration methods.
  • Experience in component design and application of high-speed cables/connectors.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
