Sign Language Interpreter for Deaf Education Program (.5)

Qualifications

• Current certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc., Level III or above by the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), and/or 4.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
• Eligible to qualify for a 5-year Provisional Licensure through the New Mexico Sign Language Interpreting Practice Board (Provisional licensed interpreters should have already completed or have proof of plans to complete the EIPA Pre-Hire screening)
• Valid New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) License
• Ability to provide accurate sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation/transliteration

Additional Information

An FBI fingerprint background check will be conducted on all new hires. Continued employment is contingent upon the results of the background check.
